2018 Irrgrønn Flash Fiction Competition
In association with Oslo’s greatest independent bookshop, Cappelens Forslag, we are again running a Flash Fiction Competition. The prize is flights from Oslo to Dublin, with accommodation for a weekend and a private tour of the city. The prize is generously provided by Tourism Ireland.
How To Enter:
A weekend trip to Dublin with flights and accommodation and a private guided walking tour. This prize has kindly been donated by Tourism Ireland.
What is Flash Fiction?:
It can be anything, as long as it is prose, is in English or Norsk and is in under 500 words. Richard Ford defined thus:
“A flash has about 500 words and is in part poem, part story. Plot is not as crucial as atmosphere and significant detail, and for me language is paramount. Though short on words, the flash story is long on depth and should sting like good poetry. Punchy, succinct and surprising, the best flash will shift the reader’s heart but also keep it beating hard.”
All who enter the competition will be entitled to free entry to ‘Irrgrønn: A Day of Ideas‘ in the Litteraturhuset, 19:00, March 3rd, 2018 where Ambassador Karl Gardner will announce the winner.
We encourage all entrants to attend.
